Crescent

The Crescent is a daily Long Distance train between new York City New Orleans, by way of Washington, DC, Charlotte, Atlanta, and Birmingham.

Eastbound from New Orleans, travelers have the option of a full breakfast, lunch, and dinner the day of their departure, with a full breakfast and lunch the following day, before an early afternoon arrival into New York City.

Westbound from New York City, travelers have the option of a full dinner on the day of their departure, with a full breakfast, lunch, and "express dinner" the following day before their early evening arrival into New Orleans.

NOTE: In April, 2013 Amtrak changed menus for the Crescent.  What was once Westbound is now referred to as Southbound, and Eastbound is now Northbound

Breakfast

Continental Breakfast (Westbound, February 2013)
Available with a choice of Kellogg's brand cereal or hot steel-cut oatmeal with golden raisins and brown sugar (depicted).  Served with fresh fruit selection, strawberry Greek yogurt and choice of whole wheat biscuit, croissant, or cinnamon raisin bread.

Lunch

Entrée Caesar Salad (Westbound, February 2013)
Chopped romaine lettuce with croutons, shredded parmesan cheese, cherry tomatoes, hard cooked egg, and Greek olive garnish.  Served with Caesar dressing and a roll. (Available with a grilled sliced chicken breast for an additional $3.00)

Angus Steak Burger (Westbound, February 2013)
Grilled Angus beef chuck burger served with or without cheese on a sesame bun with lettuce, tomato, red onion, dill pickle, and kettle chips.  (Available with two smoked bacon strips for an additional $2.00.)

A healthy, flavorful option that is both light and balanced for those watching calories, fat and salt intake.  Today's choice features a pork tenderloin with mustard sauce, bulger wheat pilaf, and creamed spinach.

  2. What a great service you provide in maintaining this web site - thanks! I haven't riden a train in the US in decades, but seeing these photos alleviates my concern about food on board an upcoming trip.
