Empire Builder

The Empire Builder is a daily Long Distance train between Chicago and Portland or Seattle, by way of Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minoit, and Spokane.

Eastbound from Seattle, travelers have the option of a full dinner on the day of their departure; Eastbound from Portland, coach travelers have the option of a limited dinner option while sleeper passengers receive a cold meal service.  From Spokane, travelers have the option of a full breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a full breakfast and lunch the following day before their  mid afternoon arrival into Chicago.

Westbound from Chicago, travelers have the option of a full dinner the evening after their departure, with a full breakfast, lunch, and dinner the following day. From Spokane, Portland  coach travelers have the option of a limited breakfast option while sleeper passengers receive a cold meal service; Seattle travelers have the option of a full breakfast.

Omelette Selection (Eastbound, July 2012)

Freshly made three egg omelet served plain, topped with cheese, filled with today’s fresh vegetable filling or with both. Served with grits or roasted Yukon potatoes, whole wheat biscuit, croissant or cinnamon raisin bread.

Dinner

Chef's Evening Marketplace Special (Eastbound, July 2012)

Red chile braised beef short-rib inspired by Amtrak Culinary Advisory Team Chef and restaurateur Roberto Santibanez. The short-rib is slow cooked in pasilla-chipotle sauce with lime marinated onions, served with garlic mashed potatoes and vegetable medley.
